Dear Families,

 

Welcome to Tot Rock! I’m so happy you found us and I can’t wait to get to know all of you and your children. I started Tot Rock in February of 2016, about a year and a half after my first child was born. I had already spent 13 years in the middle school music classroom and now found myself in awe of how quickly my own child found his connection to music.  I studied and practiced music education for years, but to see it firsthand inspired me to create a program in which the youngest members of our community could find their voices.

 

Tot Rock is rooted in the fundamentals of early childhood music learning theories from a number of reputable and educated sources. As you may (or may not) expect, there are many different approaches to music education, even at this young age. I’ve researched these theories, taken courses, observed classes and in turn created a template for which I believe offers infants, toddlers, and their families a well-rounded musical experience. An experience embedded with melody, rhythm, repetition and collaboration.

 

Even more important than musical concepts is the quality time Tot Rock aims to provide you and your children. We strive to create a safe, fun, positive space full of music, laughter, and shared experiences. We also encourage adult interaction and conversation, especially during our built-in free play. Music is the foundation of many communities and we hope to start that groundwork with each other and our children.  Thank you for being a part of our community.
